At the end of the day enjoy a leisurely swim in our private recreational lake followed by a good dinner, enhanced with convivial company in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

Our Gite – ( country cottage) – La Maison Jaune

For people who would like to enjoy this wonderful area, but would prefer to self-cater we have a lovely cottage, La Maison Jaune (just 100 meters down the road from La Boucherie) which sleeps up to 8 people and with uniquely its own private lake with continuously flowing fresh-oxygenated water just a delight to swim in, a fishing pier, a sailing boat for the budding sailor and a rowing boat to mess about in.

And your dog is welcome to enjoy it all too.

Our village of St Priest Les Fougeres is just 2.5 kilometres from the main route (RN21) at La Coquille, which was one of the five routes leading to Santiago de Compostela in Spain and it was in this parish that pilgrims were given a coquille St Jacques, a scallop shell symbolic of the Way of St James. You will still see even today walkers with knap sacks following this route through La Coquille.

There are plenty of interesting and picturesque places to visit both nearby and further afield.  The lovely medieval town of Périgueux is just 50 kilometres away. Brantome, the Venice of the Dordogne, a 45 minute drive, taking in St Jean de Cole – one of the beautiful villages of France, on your way.  The famous Lascaux caves at Montignac, plus the La Roque St Christophe nearby, are about an hour away and for a good day’s sight-seeing visit Sarlat and the Dordogne valley.  The area has a wealth of prehistoric caves to visit, authentic old market towns and beautiful villages.
